Depois do almoço, visitamos mais alguns lugares e voltamos para o nosso hotel no Cairo. Foi a primeira vez que usamos o serviço da Civitatis para um passeio de um dia a Alexandria a partir do Cairo. Sabíamos que não há muito o que se conhecer na cidade, mas o guia Essam Qamati fez com que o passeio se tornasse especial. The activity was very well organised. The guide managed to quickly adapt to situations outside his control, namely: we were stuck on the highway just outside Cairo for 2 hours. We arrive late in Alexandria. The Guide thus decide that we go to visit immediately the most interesting historical sites. This was the perfect decision. We thus had lunch a bit later. Later, we could not visit the Citadelle since it closed earlier without notice. The guide organised thus for us a feluca ride.

Es una linda ciudad, aunque no es tan impresionante como la monumentalidad de otros lugares de Egipto. Fui con la intención de seguir huellas de Alejandro Magno y no hay nada relativo a él, tampoco se aborda mucho su historia. Lo más bonito fueron las catacumbas y el castillo. La biblioteca casi no se puede recorrer, tiene museos internos y exposiciones que no tienes tiempo de recorrer y se paga extra. Queda a varias horas de el Cairo. El viaje a Alejandría es largo y yo tenía mayores expectativas sobre lo que se visitaría allí, es una ciudad hermosa a la orilla del mar, pero los monumentos visitados no son tan cautivantes, no se va a muchos lugares y es más el tiempo libre que te dan para caminar por cada lugar en el que te dejan que lo que ves.
