8-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Arrival at Luxor

We'll begin this unforgettable trip by picking you up at the Luxor Airport once you arrive. Here, we'll give you your visa and help you pass immigration control before taking you to the cruise ship. If you are already in the city, we'll pick you up at your hotel to take you to the boat, where you can settle into your cabin and have dinner.

Day 2: Temples of Luxor, Karnak y Hatshepsut, & Colossi of Memnon

After breakfast on the cruise ship, we'll disembark to discover Luxor, ancient Thebes. On this day, we'll visit two of the most spectacular temples in Egypt: the Luxor Temple, an unforgettable monument, and the Karnak Temple Complex, a large sanctuary dedicated to Amun.

Once we've had lunch on the cruise ship, we'll set off to the giant necropolis of the Valley of the Kings, where we'll step inside three of its tombs. We'll also visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Plus, we'll reach an artisanal shop to discover the craftsmanship of the locals who create impressive pieces made of stone, alabaster, and sculptures.

When we return to the boat, we'll begin to sail toward Edfu, where we'll dock for dinner and to spend the night. At sunset, you'll enjoy passing the Esna lock.

Day 3: Temples of Edfu & Kom Ombo

Good morning! After breakfast on the cruise ship, we'll hop off the boat and go on a barouche ride to visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus. This sanctuary is located on the west bank of the Nile River and was built during the Ptolemaic period. It's one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt!

The cruise ship will continue sailing toward Kom Ombo, where we'll visit its incredible temple, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Did you know it's considered one of the most beautiful temples in the country? It's completely symmetrical! You'll see its two entrances, two hypostyle rooms, and two sanctuaries.

To end the day, we'll continue sailing toward Aswan, where we'll dock and spend the night on board the ship.

Day 4: Abu Simbel

The day will start with a day trip by bus to the temples of Abu Simbel, the most famous temples in Egypt. Here, you'll marvel at this complex, declared a World Heritage Site. Did you know these temples were excavated during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II? Later, they were saved from the waters of the Nile and moved to where they are today.

After visiting the temples of Ramesses and Nefertiti, on the way back to Aswan, you'll see the stunning Aswan Dam, built to stop the floods caused by the sudden increase in the flow of the Nile River.

Our day will end back on the cruise ship.

Day 5: Aswan & Flight to Cairo

After breakfast, we'll disembark the cruise ship and visit one of Egypt's most beautiful temples, the Philae Temple Complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Did you know it's known as the "Pearl of the Nile?" Then, we'll visit a perfume shop to learn all about the secrets of Egyptian fragrances.

Next, we'll go on a felucca ride, a traditional Egyptian boat, to see how the desert dunes blend with the waters of the Nile.

In the afternoon, we'll say goodbye to the cruise ship and take you to the Aswan Airport to take a flight to Cairo. Once at the Cairo Airport, we'll take you to the hotel in the city so you can rest. See you tomorrow!

Day 6: Giza, Saqqara, & Cairo

After breakfast, we'll visit the famous Giza pyramid complex and the Great Sphinx of Giza. Plus, if you want, you'll have the chance to explore the Great Pyramids of Giza. Afterward, we'll reach a papyrus school to learn how this important Egyptian product is made.

Hungry? It's time to eat! In the afternoon, we'll enjoy a traditional menu and then head to Memphis, Egypt's first capital, where we'll see Saqqara and its necropolis, and the famous statue of Ramesses II.

After resting in the hotel, in the evening, we'll regroup to set off to Old Cairo, explore the bazaar of Khan el-Khalili, and see the famous Café of Mirrors. Our day will end with a typical dinner.

Day 7: Cairo

We'll make the most of day 7 in Egypt to visit the most iconic sites in Cairo. We'll explore the Citadel of Saladin, step into the Muhammad Ali Mosque, pass by the Copts neighborhood, have lunch, and marvel at the masterpieces of the Egyptian Museum

At night, we'll have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Cairo Airport

After breakfast, we'll take you to the Cairo Airport, where you'll take your return flight back home. We'll adapt the departure time from Cairo depending on your flight time.

What Do I Need for This Tour?

The only thing you need for this tour is to book a flight to Luxor and a return flight from Cairo, arriving on the day you have booked the tour and returning the same day the following week. For example, if you arrive at Luxor on a Tuesday, you should return from Cairo on the following Tuesday.

For the arrival day, we recommend your flight to arrive in Luxor at 2 am at the latest so you can have enough time to settle in and enjoy the tour. On the departure day, your guide will adapt to the flight time of your international flight to ensure a hassle-free departure.

If you're staying in a hotel in Luxor, on the first day, we'll pick you up first thing in the morning. However, we'll contact you with enough time to establish the exact pickup time.
