After picking you up from your hotel in Hurghada at 8 am, we'll head south towards Safaga. Not far from here, we'll find the ghost city of Umm el Howeitat. Are you ready to explore this unique abandoned town?
After a one-hour drive by 4x4, we'll arrive in our destination. We'll then combine exploring in the 4x4 with walking tours to immerse ourselves in this fascinating desert city, which was abandoned to its fate in 1988.
We'll reveal all about the past of this ghost town, which was founded by an English engineer to house the families who worked in the area's phosphate mines. And of course, we'll tell you why the population abandoned this town as we see destroyed houses, old school walls, markets and the mosque.
In the mood for adventure? We'll also enjoy a 45-minute quad bike tour of the ghost town of Umm el Howeitat. Accelerating these powerful vehicles through the streets of this abandoned city is an adrenaline rush you'll never forget!
We'll then return to the 4x4 and finish the tour back at your hotel in Hurghada at 1:30 pm.
