Traveling solo I was put onto a boat where absolutely no one spoke English. Not the best feeling spending time on the boat and not being able to have a conversation with fellow passengers. The guide spoke English - but due to events that took place that was not what I expected either.

On our website we specify the crew and guides speak English, but we can not tell about the passengers, which are organized around what they have booked, not by language.

Ship was old and outdated. Didn’t feel safe and comfortable

My family of 6 booked a three night ‘Superior Luxury’ Nile cruise through Civitatis. Our experience included: 1) being given deceptive information aimed at defrauding our reservation; 2) very poor transit arrangements leading to hours of wasted time; and, 3) a switch without our permission to a tour guide with wholly inadequate English and guide experience.

Our team reserves the right to change the order of the visits to avoid crowds at the monuments and landmarks. Even so, we can confirm that all the sights specified on the itinerary were visited. As for the guides, they all must take a language test before being assigned to the tours. Nonetheless, we appreciate and take note of the comments to continue to improve our services.

The Civitatis tour was okay-okay. The rooms and food on boat was as expected, they are clean and tidy, the staff on the boat was polite and helpful. We had poor experience with the tour guide - was always rushing the group, not inclusive of the whole group and not organized or giving enough information. We expected knowledgeable tour guide. Also, Civitatis did not stick to the schedule - with 5am starts every day (not relaxing!), no lunch break in Luxor with both East and West bank same day.

The local provider works with the best professionals in the industry. We are sorry if your impression was not that way. We will pass on your message to the team at the destination so that it can be taken into account in order to improve the service.

I booked 5* Superior Luxury Cruise but was given MS Nile Marquiz, a 5* Luxury Cruise. However, the Cruise was excellent. Staff was very nice, room was very good, meals were excellent. Our guide Amgad William was good and knowledgeable who did his best to coordinate our group and to explain history at Philae Temple, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Karnak and Luxor Temples, Valley of Kings. Faluka tour in Aswan was also good. I am satisfied with Civatatis.

The activities were planned well. We had booked a superior Luxury cruise, but we did not feel that it was Superior or luxury. When you book the activity/tour, Civitatis will not let you know which cruise or what kind of rooms you will be allotted with. It would be really good if they share the pictures of cruise and rooms along with the details of tour. Food choices were good. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful.

The provider tries to provide the best accommodations. There are no unified standards regarding the quality of the accommodations, so these may change depending on the location. We are sorry for the inconvenience in this regard, and that your stay was not exactly as you expected.

Overall the Nile cruise was very enjoyable, we loved the sites and our tour guide was the best guy! He explained everything in detail and was always happy to help us with everything. The only problem we had was that on the last two days, the company did not have a car for us to take the tours in Luxor and we also had to pay again for our tickets in Luxor Temple and for a taxi to drive us in Luxor. If it wasn't for our helpful tour guide we wouldn't have seen all the sites for sure.

The cruise was a fine experience. Food was good, it was clean and rooms were comfortable. Not US standard of “5* Superior Luxor though Our guide (Hamdy) was not loyal. Not to be trusted from Day 1! - Every single time he could overcharge us he would do, as he would take us to his friend places that with a x3 cost. - He asked us for a $20/person to manage tips during the trip - His English was not great and his explanations were unstructured and hard to follow

The local supplier works at all times with the best professionals in the industry. However, we will take your comment into account. On the other hand, our website indicates that you should tip 20 euros at the destination, which is not included in the tour. We are sorry that the experience was not to your liking.
